The foundation still matters
Google’s guidance for AI Overviews and AI Mode says existing SEO fundamentals remain relevant and that no special optimization or additional technical requirement is needed for these features. Eligibility does not guarantee that a page will be included.
For a business website, focus on public pages that identify the company, explain its services, and provide useful supporting material. Keep important information in readable text and connect related pages with ordinary links.
Use AI to support an editorial process
Google’s generative-AI guidance emphasizes accuracy, quality, and relevance. It warns that generating many pages without adding value can violate its scaled-content-abuse policy. Publishing more text is not a substitute for answering the reader’s question.
- Check factual claims against original sources.
- Label opinions, hypothetical examples, and historical event summaries clearly.
- Keep company names, service descriptions, and contact details consistent.
- Use structured data that matches what readers can see.
- Review existing pages before multiplying similar ones.
Measure what you can observe
Track relevant search queries, referral visits, and qualified inquiries. Search and AI services choose sources independently, and citations can change between queries. Cognisor AI can help improve the technical and content foundation, but no provider can promise permanent inclusion or the top position in every search engine or AI answer.
